DECOPHANT

DECOPHANT is a newly compound word of DECORATION and ELEPHANT, and also a unique brand created by JUWON YOON, an artist based in Seoul, Korea. It all started with one simple imagination - "what would an elephant, an animal that has one of the largest size and weight in the world, look like if it had both beautiful and colorful patterns like a peacock, instead of its standard gray skin, full of wrinkles?" The artist aims to give a new life and demonstrate fresh energy by dismantling existing images and shapes of various animals and plants fixated in our heads, and instead, to build in new patterns and express using an entirely different spectrum of colors. The patterns of her artwork using fabric and applies them to real life or space. Now, not just on a canvas, but we also have an opportunity to see and interact with such sophisticated yet fashionable patterns in our daily lives.
